Sergio Perez joins the Kimpton George Hotel in Washington DC as General Manager after an experience as Front Desk Manager and Assistant General Manager at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC. He most recently served as General Manager of the Task Force at the Kimpton George Hotel.
Sergio brings over 20 years of hospitality experience, including hotels in Virginia, Chicago, Baltimore and Washington DC. Prior to joining Kimpton in 2018, Sergio served as Front Desk Operations Manager for the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC. Prior to that, Sergio had a long career at Hyatt, including serving as Director of Housekeeping at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. He also has experience in international openings and renovations of Hyatt Zilara and Hyatt Ziva. He is strongly committed to driving hotel operations performance, revenue and engagement through transformational leadership.
Sergio’s passion for hotels began at a young age – he moved every few years as a child, staying in hotels with his family. He has lived in several different countries, including Peru, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela and Costa Rica. With each change of venue, he got to know the back room of every hotel he stayed in, inspiring his interest in a career in the hospitality industry.
He graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management. When not at work, Sergio can be found renovating his house, taking his children to various playgrounds and driving his Harley Davidson on twisty roads. He is a football enthusiast, supporting DC United as well as Chile and Mexico international teams. Her personal motto is “Be yourself, believe in yourself and encourage others to do the same”.
