A 500,000 square foot FedEx packaging facility in Chino has opened and is joining a myriad of Inland Empire businesses in need of seasonal workers.

The “automated hub” at 15020 Flight Ave. needs 1,400 employees to keep holiday deliveries buzzing.

The company said it offered competitive salaries (but did not offer details), paid benefits and parental leave, “enhanced time off” and tuition reimbursement.

Southern California’s logistics network is scrambling to hire enough workers ahead of planned vacation spending. Walmart, UNFI, and area casinos are all looking for hundreds of employees for a wide variety of roles.

Adding to the struggle, a record 4.4 million Americans quit their jobs in September, many in search of better pay.

Applicants for FedEx jobs must be 18 years old. There is no school requirement.
