Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Autograph Collection and Hotel Indigo are the brands behind some of the most exciting hotels to open this month.
All significant new developments, these three remarkable hotels offer distinct new hospitality experiences in Maryland, California and New York City.
Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott Headquarters, Maryland
This 245-room hotel in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland promises enriching experiences and locally inspired design in the space, including three food and beverage concepts and creative meeting spaces. This 12-story property is adjacent to the soon-to-open Marriott International World Headquarters. The hotel is owned by The Bernstein Companies and managed by Marriott International, with architecture by Gensler and interior design by Rottet Architecture and Design Studio.
In addition to being a gateway to the greater Washington, DC area, this new hotel aims to be a destination in its own right with venues such as Bethesda’s first rooftop bar. With interiors inspired by the region’s natural attributes, facilities include a fitness center with Peloton bikes, the M Club, a library showcasing local authors, and three food and beverage concepts from Executive Chef Dupree Braswell : the Greatroom lobby bar, the Seventh State restaurant and the Hip Flask rooftop bar. Events will take place in 8,000 square feet of event space.
TETRA Hotel, Autograph Collection, California
The 186-key TETRA Hotel, an Autograph Collection hotel, is now open in Silicon Valley, just minutes from San Jose International Airport in its Sunnyvale location. The hotel sits adjacent to its sister property AC Hotel by Marriott Sunnyvale Moffett Park and is connected via the Nexus House to an indoor-outdoor common and art space. The new Autograph Collection property includes several restaurants and bars, as well as indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces.
Guests staying in the new hotel’s guest rooms and suites spread over eight floors can make the most of amenities, including a heated outdoor pool, fitness center with Peloton bikes, 9,000 square foot event space, and new social venues: signature restaurant Adrestia, Japanese whiskey bar Nokori and coffee factory. Interiors incorporating natural elements were designed by Gabellini Sheppard and art installations include a canopy tree piece by Sharon Levy. Additional amenities at this property include on-site parking with free electric car charging stations and valet parking.
Hotel Indigo NYC Downtown – Wall Street
IHG Hotels & Resorts’ boutique lifestyle brand, Hotel Indigo, launched its latest New York property this month with an opening in the city’s Financial District. The brand’s second hotel in Manhattan, this establishment pays homage to the history of Wall Street. The hotel’s contemporary interiors were designed by Gene Kaufman Architect PC to reflect the neighborhood, with gold accents, leathers, reflective surfaces, and a vintage tape machine woven into the design of the property’s 127 rooms.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Buttonwood, takes its name from the tree under which the Buttonwood Agreement was signed when the stock exchange was established in 1792. This restaurant now offers business lunches and aperitifs after work with a menu of New York classics. Other highlights of the new hotel include the Highwater Rooftop cocktail bar on the 25th floor. The hotel was created by The Rinaldi Group, Atlas Hospitality New York and IHG Hotels & Resorts, with Fortuna Reality Group managing the property.
