Hyatt Regency Delhi appoints Barun Gupta as Director of Sales and Marketing


Hyatt Regency Delhi has appointed Barun Gupta as Director of Sales and Marketing. Specialized in the sale of rooms and MICE, Barun has a rich experience of more than a decade with major international hotel chains. Highly motivated and passionate, he has always focused on building lasting relationships with clients and is recognized for his ability to develop new business segments.

In his new role, Barun will be responsible for leading strategic sales, marketing and business operations and developing MICE strategies. Prior to joining Hyatt Regency Delhi, Barun worked as Director of Sales and Marketing for IHG’s largest hotel in South West Asia – Crowne Plaza Greater Noida, where he was instrumental in transforming the positioning of the hotel and the promotion of commercial excellence for the property.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar, Barun started his career at Taj as a hospitality intern where he quickly rose through the ranks to become Assistant Manager, Sales , after which he moved to Novotel Hyderabad as Sales Manager. He then joined the global sales team at Starwood Hotels where he was instrumental in increasing revenue. He was also part of Marriott International as Market Manager for MICE and managed Marriott properties across India.

He is currently also the President of the Indian Chapter of the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), which is dedicated to strengthening and supporting the incentive travel industry. Barun has been recognized with various awards such as Best Promising Professional in Hotel Sales by North India Travel Awards, Best Emerging Professional in Hotel Sales by India Hospitality Awards among others.
